More Than Basketball: Inside BCA Next Level Camp 2026
Five days of basketball, new friendships, personal growth, and moments worth remembering.
From September 28 to October 2, St. Jakobshalle in Basel was filled with bouncing basketballs, squeaking sneakers, laughter, and plenty of energy as young players came together for the BCA Next Level Camp 2026.
Organized by BC Allschwil in collaboration with Basel Que Sí, the five-day camp brought together young basketball enthusiasts of different ages and experience levels for a week dedicated to learning, playing, and growing together.
But beyond the drills, games, and competition, this camp was about something bigger: creating an environment where young players could challenge themselves, discover new skills, build friendships, and simply enjoy the game they love.
Getting Better, One Rep at a Time
Basketball development remained at the heart of the camp.
Across three training groups — Future Stars, Level Up, and Next Level — campers participated in age-appropriate sessions designed to improve their technical abilities, basketball understanding, and confidence on the court.
From ball handling, footwork, passing, and shooting mechanics to defensive movement, finishing, and decision-making, players were encouraged to keep learning and applying their skills in real game situations.
Guided by the coaching staff, each group followed a program that balanced structured learning with plenty of opportunities to play.
The camp also introduced the Level Up Score, a basketball combine-inspired challenge that allowed players to test different physical and technical abilities and work toward improving their individual performance throughout the week.
Progress looks different for everyone, and every effort counts.
Basketball Brought Us Together. The Little Moments Made It Special.
Of course, not every memorable moment happened during a drill.
Between training sessions, campers enjoyed time together over provided lunches, shared conversations, laughter, and made new friends both on and off the court.
One of the week's highlights was a special movie afternoon, when everyone gathered to relax and enjoy a basketball-themed film together.
The camp also made room for creativity through an Artwork Corner, where campers could draw, express themselves, and proudly display their creations for everyone to see.
These moments brought a different kind of energy to the week, reminding everyone that being part of a team isn't only about what happens during a game.
Sometimes, it's about the conversations between sessions, laughing with new friends, or simply feeling like you belong.
A Little Kindness Goes a Long Way: The Fox Box
One of the camp's most meaningful features was the Fox Box.
Throughout the week, campers were invited to write positive notes and compliments to their fellow campers and coaches.
From appreciating a helpful teammate to recognizing someone else's effort, the Fox Box offered a simple way for everyone to encourage one another.
It wasn't about scoring points or winning a competition. It was about recognizing kindness, good sportsmanship, and the small things that make a great teammate.
Learning how to support others is just as valuable as learning how to score a basket.
Celebrating Every Step Forward: The Next Level Wall
Every day also brought a special moment of recognition.
One camper from each of the three groups was selected as Camper of the Day, celebrating qualities such as energy, teamwork, toughness, and improvement.
Each selected camper had their photo taken with a Polaroid camera, with the photo proudly displayed on the Next Level Wall.
As the week progressed, the wall became a collection of smiling faces and individual achievements — a visual reminder that becoming a better player means more than simply being the best scorer.
Effort, attitude, teamwork, and willingness to improve all deserve recognition.
Five Days. One Shared Experience.
As the week progressed, campers continued to put their skills into practice through basketball games, team challenges, and friendly competition.
There were exciting plays, encouraging words from coaches, celebrations with teammates, and plenty of opportunities to learn from one another.
By the end of the camp, the goal was never just to leave with better basketball skills. It was to leave with greater confidence, new friendships, positive memories, and an even stronger love for the game.
That is what Next Level is all about.
To every camper who joined us, every coach who shared their knowledge, and every parent and family who supported the experience: thank you for being part of BCA Next Level Camp 2026.
We look forward to seeing even more young players take their next step with us.
Time to level up!
